UNEC’s Academic Building No. 3 was reconstructed in 2020, with the façade of the old building preserved, and was commissioned for student use in the same year. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the opening ceremony of the new academic complex.
The building, constructed in a modern architectural style and meeting contemporary campus standards, accommodates more than 3,000 students studying in technical and technological specializations. Comprehensive conditions have been created to ensure the high-quality organization of the educational process. The facility includes spacious lecture halls and classrooms, language laboratories, modern scientific laboratories, a sports hall, a library, large and small conference halls, as well as a cafeteria, dining hall, and recreational areas. The faculties housed in Academic Building No. 3 include the Faculty of Digital Economics, the Faculty of Engineering, and the UNEC School of Design.

The total area of the building is 13,196.2 sq.m. The four-storey academic complex allocates 7,997.7 sq.m. for administrative, academic and structural unit offices; 2,278.3 sq.m. for lecture halls; 241.5 sq.m. for the library room; 340.1 sq.m. for the cafeteria;
123.1 sq.m. for the kitchen service area; 127.4 sq.m. for the restaurant; 33.0 sq.m. for the café; 418.3 sq.m. for the sports hall; 424.7 sq.m. for the assembly hall; 1,208.1 sq.m. for various laboratories; and 20 sq.m. for the medical point.
