Aslan Shirinov

(1974-1993)

Aslan Sardar oghlu Shirinov was born on 14 September 1974 in the village of Meysari, Shamakhi district.
Excelling in his studies, he was selected to attend an international Pioneer camp, and his poems and articles were published in various newspapers across the country. In 1991, he graduated from Meysari village secondary school with excellent marks.
In 1992, Aslan Shirinov was admitted to the Faculty of Commerce at the Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy named after Dadash Bunyadzada (present-day UNEC). During his first year of studies, he suspended his education and voluntarily joined the front.
Aslan was wounded during fierce battles in the Aghdara region, yet immediately after recovering, he returned to the front line. He distinguished himself as a steadfast and courageous soldier in the heavy fighting in the directions of Goranboy, Tartar, and Aghdara.
On 16 February 1993, Aslan Shirinov was heroically martyred during intense battles in the Aghdara region.
The secondary school in his native village of Meysari now bears his name.
